What A Trip: Actually Purchasing A Classic Mustang
I really haven’t so much had any time to speak on the web site half as often as I’d planned, on account of how much I have been roped into helping my pops manage his wild & crazy midlife crisis. True, you might think it’s not as far gone as it could possibly be. You see, what he did was to go and dress himself up like fonzie, and come over to my apartment and proclaim to me, in his “coolest” possible vocal tone: “Come on in, son, we are going out looking for some classic Ford Mustangs. No joke, son, I intend to do this thing.”
So next we were hopping around to some of those wild vintage car showrooms that I’m always mostly certain are owned by the mob, and I am just awed my dad wrote a check right there on the spot, for a very shiny classic Ford Mustang. I have to admit, it’s one hell of a car. It made some great noise too.
I want to point out that I wrote that last sentence in a past tense. It sounded great right up until it became silent. My Dad tells me that it is just a simple problem and that all it will take is the right part. Only thing is, it is not as easy to find classic Ford Mustang parts as it was some three decades years ago, but my pop insists that there is a really good-sized aftermarket for them in spite of their age. From what I’m told the best place to find parts for classic Mustangs is through internet auctions, since you can find them refurbbed and sometimes as good as they were 30 years ago. They’re not necessarily super-cheap, however… Get real, we’re talking about ancient car parts.
Not the worst midlife crisis ever, I guess. He could’ve bought a mail-order bride.
