New Fiats – Small and Stylish

Fiat cars have changed focus on its car range recently and has now tended to focus on smaller models. This is a smart move by the Italian manufacturer as the economic downturn and Scrappage incentives have joined forces to the demand for smaller models and in particular, Fiat cars, within Europe. Fiat has been ideally placed to respond to these times with its selection of modern, economical and very stylish new Fiat cars.

Here’s what Fiat have on offer:-

Although the modifications to the Fiat Panda are evolutionary rather than revolutionary, any updates to a car that was already at the top of the pile can only be a good thing for Fiat drivers. The 100HP Fiat Panda makes the most of the Panda’s chassis while the 4×4 proves that go-anywhere cars needn’t be hugely profligate.

Although the shape may a little bit like the original not much else about the Fiat 500 vehicle sticks to its predecessor’s back to basics appeal. This time round, the 500 is unashamedly chic, giving an upmarket look and feel that has carved a sizeable chunk of MINI’s bottom line. The appealing 500C convertible only adds to the car’s all-round appeal.

If you think on the premise that all the superminis from major manufacturers are more or less equally technically proficient, who’s to say that buying the prettiest one isn’t the best way to go? Anyway, thanks to a number of recent tweaks, there’s now more to the Fiat Grande Punto than a simple makeover.

No doubt about it, functional budget-minded family motoring is best served by one of those van-based mini-MPVs. For many though, something like this is too square and boring to run as an only car. So what if someone made it smaller and cheaper so you could run one as a second or third car alongside something nicer. And what if they made it trendier too? That’s what Fiat’s Qubo now delivers along with some great Fiat deals.

Fiat’s Multipla may not be the most recent mini-MPV out there but genius doesn’t get old quickly. It’s still a very capable car that’s affordable and run and which can take the adverse treatment from young children. Available with a 1.6 petrol or a 1.9 diesel engine, the Multipla is a great car to drive.

Last but not least the Sedici comes as part of a collaboration between Fiat and Suzuki. The Japanese got a great diesel engine out of the this, the Italians got this car. While such a tiny 4×4 might at first seem an irrelevance, the Sedici is tough and well built. What’s more it’s great fun to drive.

These Fiats are an impressive line-up and they are coping very well in this economic climate.
